Child Safety Standards Policy
Achievements for XBOX — last updated 9 August 2026
Introduction and commitment
"Achievements for XBOX" is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any content or behavior that facilitates Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). The safety of children is of paramount importance, and we will take swift and decisive action against any violation of this policy.
Prohibited activities
To protect our community, the following is strictly prohibited on "Achievements for XBOX":
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): The creation, sharing, distribution, or solicitation of any visual media, including photographs, videos, or computer-generated images, that depicts the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors.
- Grooming: Any attempt to befriend, manipulate, or build trust with a minor to facilitate sexual exploitation, either online or offline. This includes any communication intended to normalize or encourage sexual activity with a minor.
- Sextortion: Threatening or blackmailing a minor using real or alleged access to their intimate images, personal information, or communications.
- Sexualization of minors: Any content that depicts or encourages the portrayal of children in a sexual manner, or content that could result in the sexual exploitation of children.
- Solicitation: Any attempt to solicit sexual content, communication, or acts from a minor.
Reporting and enforcement
User reporting
We provide an easily accessible in-app reporting mechanism for users to flag any content or behavior that they believe violates this policy. Every community message, game review and community can be reported from inside the app. We strongly encourage all members of our community to report suspected violations immediately to help us maintain a safe platform.
Our review process
All user reports related to child safety are treated with the highest priority and are escalated for immediate review by our dedicated safety team.
Enforcement actions
Accounts found to be in violation of this Child Safety Standards policy will be subject to immediate and decisive action, up to and including permanent suspension of access to our services. We reserve the right to take any and all appropriate actions, including the removal of all offending content and the termination of user accounts without prior warning.
A suspension is recorded and is kept even if the account later asks for its data to be erased. Removing it would let a suspension be cleared on request, and the underlying Xbox Live account is one we neither own nor delete — so the same person would simply return. This is set out in the privacy policy as well.
Legal compliance and reporting
Compliance with law
We are committed to complying with all applicable local, national, and international child safety laws and regulations.
Reporting to authorities
In accordance with our legal obligations, we will report any confirmed instances of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) discovered on our platform to the appropriate authorities. In the United States, this includes the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). In other jurisdictions, reports will be made to the relevant regional law enforcement agency.
Cooperation
We will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies in their investigations of child sexual abuse and exploitation. This may include providing relevant information in response to valid legal process.
